A serious crash at a South Florida bus stop has left one person dead and at least one other injured.

Local10.com reports that a woman pedestrian was killed, and her son was injured, when an SUV crashed into a Miami Gardens bus stop at about 5:00pm yesterday. Police identify the 75-year-old victim as Gracie Palmer. Palmer’s autistic son was with her at the time of the crash, which occurred when two vehicles collided at Northwest 171st Street and Northwest 33rd Court, and was injured in the incident.

According to the Local10.com report, the collision which led to Palmers’ death began when a white vehicle went through a stop sign without making a full stop. The car was struck by a black SUV, sending the wreckage careening towards the victims.

People interviewed by the news organization claim that the intersection where Palmer was killed is dangerous and needs four-way stop signs installed.
