WHY OUR FIRM IS UNIQUE

Our firm’s lawyers have secured multiple 7- and 8-figure verdicts and settlements for our clients – more than $100 million in total – over only a few years. We have received numerous accolades for our achievements and our dedication to our clients. Some of our case results are listed here, by the amount and by the type of case.

We can obtain these results due to our thorough preparation of each case, our understanding of the legal issues, the network of professionals we work with, our tenacity, our skillfulness at the art of negotiation, and our comfort and persuasiveness before juries. PARTNER WITH A CIVIL TRIAL SPECIALIST

Our lawyers only represent injury victims. We’ve been strong advocates for plaintiffs for 25 years. Attorney Jack Hickey worked for cruise lines, railroad companies, and self-insurers for another 17 years before becoming a full-time plaintiff’s lawyer. This is one of the main reasons why his firm is able consistently to anticipate and counter the arguments insurance carriers and defense lawyers assert.

Here are our practice areas:

TRIAL LAWYERS FIRST AND FOREMOST

Unlike many trial attorneys who prefer to settle cases, our firm’s trial lawyers love to advocate for our clients before juries. We settle many cases because defense lawyers know that we do not shy away from a fight, we have the persistence and experience to win, and we will go to trial and win if we need to. And we have the many high jury verdicts and settlements to prove it.

Through the decades, we have developed working relationships with and know what questions to ask of investigators, product safety experts, traffic reconstruction professionals, financial experts, and a range of doctors.

Our firm is connected to our community. We are comfortable communicating with clients who speak Spanish, French, and Portuguese. We work with translation experts and sign language experts when necessary. We also have the skill and experience to work with young children, teenagers, adults, and seniors.

THE ATTORNEY REFERRAL PROCESS

Our referral process respects the needs of the client, the concerns of the referring lawyer, and our ability to competently and persuasively handle your case. We meet with clients so they can understand our experience, answer all their questions, and discuss how the litigation process works. We discuss with the referring lawyers how we match their needs. This discussion includes the practice area involved, the jurisdiction, how much work the referring lawyer or firm has done, our ability to represent your client to the fullest, and our ability to provide staff and resources to present the strongest case possible. We review all open stages of litigation, including investigation, discovery, motions, pretrial issues, jury trials, and appeals.

THE REFERRAL CONTRACTS

Hickey Law Firm has partnered with numerous lawyers and law firms throughout the country. At the beginning, we ask the referring attorney whether they want to be involved in the process of intake and whether and how much they want to be involved if we do sign up the client. We can include the referring lawyers in the initial intake calls and in the Zoom conference that we have with the client after sign up. The purpose of the “Initial Zoom” is allow the new client to see and meet the entire Hickey Law Firm team and to fill in any blanks in the facts that we have on liability, damages, and background of the client. The Hickey Law Firm Team consists of Trial Lawyer Jack Hickey, another attorney at the Firm who works under the guidance of Mr. Hickey, a Case Manager paralegal, and a Medical Case Manager paralegal. Every case. Every time.

We keep the referring lawyers involved in the process. Part of that involvement is to copy the referring lawyers on most if not all correspondence from our office to the client.

We enter into written agreements with the referring lawyer that detail the terms of the referral arrangement. We comply with all ethical rules of the county and state bar associations.

Experience. Leadership. Results.
