PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL - A collision between a car and a motorcycle west of Delray Beach left a man dead, WPTV reports.

The incident happened Sunday morning on US 441 near WInner's Circle at about 10:39 a.m.

Investigators said the driver of a Honda Civic began to turn left from Winner's Circle onto US 441 and was struck on the driver's side by a Yamaha MT09 motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider, 42-year-old Oscar Benavidas of West Palm Beach, was ejected from his bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Excessive speed by Benevidas may have been a contributing factor, witnesses told investigators.
