TAMARAC, FL - Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Tamarac Friday morning that left a bicyclist seriously injured, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office said the man was struck by an SUV while riding in a designated bicycle lane in the area of West Commercial Boulevard and Banyan Lane shortly before 7 a.m. The driver involved left the scene without stopping to help, investigators said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital and was expected to survive.
The Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle involved in the crash was believed to have been a 2013-2019 silver Nissan Pathfinder SUV. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact Broward Crime Stoppers.
