14News.com reports that 27-year-old Justin Dolson had been fighting extradition for months, as Florida authorities sought him to face charges that he sexually assaulted a girl while the two sailed aboard a cruise ship.

The alleged incident occurred as the two sailed on the Norwegian Epic cruise ship in March 2018. Authorities allege that Dolson lured a 13-year-old girl into a hot tub aboard the ship, where he then allegedly touched her beneath the waters.

Authorities say that they have video of the two in the hot tub together.

Dolson had been fighting extradition to Florida to face the charges, but eventually Florida officials obtained a governor’s warrant. Following the issue of the warrant Dolson was arrested and transferred to Brevard County, where he will face charges.

As we blogged yesterday, typically the FBI handles cruise crimes that occur in international waters. But in an interview, Brevard County law enforcement indicated that they were able to pursue Dolson because the incident happened while the ship was in transit.

Florida authorities are holding Dolson on one count of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim under the age of 16.
