Two people are seriously hurt following a crash involving a police car in Pembroke Pines early Sunday.
Local10.com reports that the crash occurred at about 2:00 a.m. when two Pembroke Pines police officers were stopped in the road following a traffic stop. Though the officers reportedly had their emergency lights on, a Toyota nevertheless crashed into one of the police vehicles, causing minor injuries to the officers. The officers were not in their cars when the crash occurred.
The driver of the Toyota and a female passenger were severely injured in the crash. Rescue workers had to first cut the victims out of the vehicle, then transported the victims to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.
There has been no additional word as to the victims’ conditions.
