This week Carnival announced that it is extending its no-sail period through June 27. Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival, announced that it would extend its no-sail period through June 30. These announcements come as Carnival cruise line is currently under a no-sail order which was ordered by the Centers for Disease Control.

As we blogged yesterday, the CDC's order may extend as long as 100 days but could be fewer. The duration depends on the cruise industry's ability to meet certain CDC specified criteria,

Though many are wondering whether the cruise industry will be ready to resume in June, Carnival spokesperson Vance Gulliksen said that the company plans to resume. "If we are required to extend the pause into July, we will notify our guests," he said.
