Surfside Condo Building Partial Collapse Leaves At Least One Dead and Dozens Injured

A major building collapse has left one person dead and dozens more injured in Miami.

NBCMiami.com reports that the partial collapse occurred during the early morning hours of Thursday when part of the Surfside Condo building suddenly buckled. News outlets showed images of stunned victims being pulled from the rubble.

News outlet Today reports the Surfside Condo building is 12 stories with 136 units, located near 88th Street and Collins. As of the time of the report, at least 35 people had been rescued from the building and 2 had been pulled from the debris.

Authorities are still unsure what led to the collapse.
