POMPANO BEACH, FL - Authorities are searching for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Pompano Beach on Sept. 9.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said the fatal hit-and-run took place near the 3300 block of West Atlantic Boulevard at about 6:40 a.m. Investigators determined that a woman was attempting to cross West Atlantic Boulevard in an undesignated crosswalk area when she was struck by a vehicle headed east in the center thru lane.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Broward Health North where she was pronounced dead several hours later.
The driver involved fled the scene of the crash. The BSO said vehicle parts found at the scene indicate the vehicle involved is a 2003 to 2007 dark-colored Honda Accord.
