MIAMI, FL - Police said a driver going the wrong way was involved in a crash that injured several people early Saturday morning in Southwest Miami-Dade County, according to WSVN.
The accident happened on the Don Shula Expressway near Kendall Drive at about 3:30 a.m. Investigators said a person was driving a Mercedes-Benz south in the expressway's northbound lanes and collided with two other vehicles, a Honda and a pickup truck.
The driver of the Mercedes was extricated from the vehicle and was seriously injured. That driver was transported to Ryder Trauma Center. The occupants of the pickup sustained minor injuries and were taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center. The people in the Honda were not hurt.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
