JENSEN BEACH, FL - A driver plowed into a physical therapy facility in Jensen Beach Thursday afternoon, injuring a detective undergoing therapy inside.

According to WPBF, the incident occurred at a building in the Jensen Beach Plaza off NE Jensen Beach Boulevard at about 1:39 p.m.

A driver crashed into the front of the facility and struck Martin County Sheriff's Detective Ezekiel "Zeke" Spence, as he was riding an exercise bike for an injured knee.  Spence was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.  No one else was hurt in the accident.

The 59-year-old woman who drove the car involved remained at the scene. She received a ticket but was not expected to face criminal charges, as the crash was deemed accidental with no indications of driver impairment.

Spence, an eight-year member of the Martin County Sheriff's Office, had injured his knee twice while on duty.
