Girl Injured in Fall from Ride at Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition
A South Florid girl was hospitalized in an accident at an area fair on Friday.
Local10.com reports that a teenage girl was injured after she fell from the Hard Rock ride at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition yesterday. The report says that employees asked patrons to disembark from the ride after they were unable to lock the cars. The report quotes an official with the fair as saying “During the loading process, the guest attempted to exit the ride and fell onto the deck of the ride.”
The teen was left in serious condition after the fall, and required a medical evacuation to receive treatment. A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue helicopter landed at Tamiami Park, boarded the victim, and then evacuated her to a local medical facility.
Authorities with Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services say that the ride will remain closed until it has been re-inspected.
