Police Arrest Boat Captain Who Caused Fatal September Maritime Crash

Police have arrested a man who was involved in a boating incident that left one person dead.

WSVN.com reports that Miami police arrested Dean Michael Sealy and charged him with various criminal charges including vessel homicide, manslaughter, and leaving the scene of an accident. Police say that Sealy was operating a boat on September 17 when he struck a sandbar off Haulover Beach, ejecting all three people from the boat. Police allege that Sealy then climbed back into the boat and fled the scene, leaving his two injured passengers in the water.

27-year-old Zack Forte was riding with Sealy and was killed in the crash. Another victim was injured.

Police arrested Sealy last week after an investigation that extended for approximately one month.
