Video Released of Woman Who Was Rescued after Fall from Norwegian Epic Cruise Ship

The woman who fell from a cruise ship earlier this week was reportedly taking a selfie at the time she went overboard.

The 53-year-old victim fell from the Norwegian Epic cruise ship as it sailed off the coast of the Bahamas. The victim was reportedly in the water for approximately 60 to 90 minutes before being rescued by crew members.

According to an Inside Edition report about the incident passengers could hear the woman screaming as she fell into the water. The fact that woman survived the 15 story fall into the water and managed to stay afloat until rescuers arrived is amazing, especially considering that the vast majority of those who fall from cruise ships are never seen or heard from again.

Though technology has been developed which can help alert cruise ship authorities as to when a passenger has fallen overboard, the cruise industry has been criticized for slow implementation of man-overboard technology.
