Two Cruise Ship Crew Members Evacuated After Being Burned In Engine Room Accident
WITN.com is reporting that two cruise ship crew members were medically evacuated from a ship off the Crystal Coast this week, after being severely injured in an incident aboard the ship.
The incident occurred aboard the Norwegian Escape on Monday, when a 25-year-old and 26-year-old crew member were burned in an accident in the ship’s engine room.
The U.S. Coast Guard was called in to assist and evacuate the pair. They were flown to Rocky Mount-Wilson Regional Airport aboard a Jayhawk MH-60 helicopter, and from there were taken for further treatment.
The crew members’ condition is not known.
