MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – Police said they have made an arrest in connection with a fatal accident in northwest Miami-Dade County on Feb. 13, 2021.
According to WPLG, 36-year-old Stanley Dedieu of Hialeah was charged Tuesday with two counts of vehicular homicide.
Police said Dedieu was speeding in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on the night of the crash in the vicinity of Northwest 79th Street and Northwest 18th Avenue.
As the driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer began turning at the intersection, the Silverado crashed into the right of the Mitsubishi, causing it to go airborne and onto a sidewalk before colliding with the concrete wall of a private business.
The 16-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi and 14-year-old passenger, both girls, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Dedieu was driving 97 miles an hour in a 40 mile an hour zone when the wreck occurred.
