News: Motorcycle rider dies in crash with 2 cars on I-95 south

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL –  The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an early morning multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 that claimed the life of a motorcyclist, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

The incident happened Monday morning in the southbound express lanes of I-95 near Hallandale Beach Boulevard at about 7 a.m.  The FHP said a man riding a motorcycle veered in front of a sedan, hit the front of the vehicle and ended up underneath it. A van that was behind the sedan then struck the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead after being transported to Aventura Hospital & Medical Center.

All southbound lanes of I-95 were shut down in the area of the crash for several hours.
