News: Miami Beach police officer struck by car while responding to emergency call

MIAMI BEACH, FL – A Miami Beach police officer was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning, according to WPLG.

The incident took place in the vicinity of Washington Avenue and 9th Street at about 4:38 a.m.  Police said the officer was riding an all-terrain vehicle as he responded to an emergency call with his lights and siren activated.

He was struck at the intersection by a Chevy Corvette. The officer was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The driver of the car, 26-year-old Nash Martin of New York, was arrested after authorities determined that he was driving with a revoked license.
