News: Fleeing driver crashes in Lauderhill, injures 2 sheriff’s deputies

LAUDERHILL, FL – A driver being pursued by law enforcement authorities crashed in Lauderhill Tuesday night, reports WSVN.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a report of a reckless driver in the area of State Road 7 and Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderdale Lakes at about 11 p.m.

One deputy on foot who tried to stop the driver was struck by the vehicle when the driver took off.  Other deputies then began a pursuit that continued into Lauderhill.  Officials said the chase ended with a crash on Oakland Park Boulevard that injured another BSO deputy.

The driver tried to get away on foot but was apprehended.

The two sheriff’s deputies and the suspect were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
