BOCA RATON, FL - A portion of Interstate 95 was shut down Tuesday morning after two vehicles were involved in a fatal crash.

According to WPTV, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-95 in the area of Glades Road in Boca Raton at about 2:45 a.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a sedan and an SUV were going north on I-95 when the sedan driver made a sharp left turn and crashed into the SUV. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

All northbound lanes of I-95 were blocked at Glades Road, and drivers were advised to exit the interstate at Palmetto Park Road and use Military Trail, Powerline Road or U.S. 1 as alternative routes.  Lanes were reported reopened by 5:15 a.m.
