BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Police are conducting a DUI investigation following a car accident in Boynton Beach that left four people injured, according to WPEC.
The accident occurred Wednesday morning on West Boynton Beach Boulevard in the vicinity of Knuth Road at about 3 a.m. Police said the driver of a Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed when the car hit the back of a Ford 250 on West Boynton Beach Boulevard. The impact sent the Ford crashing into a concrete utility pole.
A back seat passenger in the Ford was hospitalized with critical injuries, while the driver and a front seat passenger sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and is suspected of having been driving under the influence. Charges against the driver are pending the outcome of the investigation, police said.
