News: Driver charged with DUI in fatal accident in Palm Beach County
LAKE WORTH, FL – A suspected drunk driver was arrested in connection with a fatal crash in Palm Beach County earlier this year.
According to WPEC, 52-year-old Victor Lopez Rios of Lake Worth was charged with DUI manslaughter and negligent manslaughter.
The accident took place February 8 in the area of Lantana Road and Seminole Drive in Atlantis at about 8 p.m.
Police said Rios was behind the wheel of a Ford F-150 pickup when he turned into the path of an oncoming car and the vehicles collided.
A passenger in the pickup, 54-year-old Marcos Rodriguez Luna, suffered fatal injuries.
Police said they detected an odor of alcohol on Rios when they met with him after the crash at a hospital.
