News: Authorities identify couple killed in Boca Raton car crash

BOCA RATON, FL – Authorities have identified a married couple who were among five people killed in a crash in Boca Raton early Sunday morning, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

This is an update to a previous story.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said 58-year-old Goran Zgonjanin and 55-year-old Anka Zgonjanin of West Boca died in the wreck that happened near their home in the area of Camino Real and Sanibel Drive at about 12:35 a.m.

Investigators say a speeding Hyundai Genesis crashed and landed on top of the couple’s Mercedes-Benz, and they were pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center.

Three teenagers in the Hyundai also were killed, and five other youngsters in that vehicle were injured.

Neighbors said Goran and Anka Zgonjanin were natives of Bosnia who had moved to the United States from Canada and lived in West Boca for the past 20 years.
