News: Alleged drunk driver charged in fatal Palm Beach County wreck

BOCA RATON, FL – The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said a driver has been arrested for a fatal car crash that occurred on Aug. 3, according to the Palm Beach Post.

24-year-old Christopher Gallon was taken into custody Tuesday and faces several charges, including DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.  The charges stem from an accident at the intersection of Camino Del Mar and Palm D’Oro Road in Boca Del Mar. Authorities said Gallon was driving a Toyota Corolla at high speed at about 3:30 p.m. when he collided with a Nissan Rogue, causing the Rogue to roll over.

A passenger in the back seat of the Corolla, 21-year-old David Hernandez, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead after being taken to Delray Medical Center. Gallon and the driver and three passengers in the Rogue all suffered minor injuries.

Investigators said Gallon showed signs of alcohol impairment at the time of the crash, and tests showed that his blood alcohol level was over the legal limit.

Gallon was booked into the Palm County Jail this week and bail was set at $55,000.
