DEERFIELD BEACH, FL - The Broward Sheriff's Office said its traffic homicide detectives are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in Deerfield Beach.

The victim was identified as 68-year-old Rudy Dipietro of Deerfield Beach. Investigators said he was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle south on South Military Trail Saturday evening when the incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m.

Dipietro lost control of the motorcycle while trying to maneuver through a curve in the roadway, causing the bike to go off the roadway and crash into a wooden fence.

Dipietro, who was not wearing a protective helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
