Lawsuit Filed by FIU Student Who Survived Bridge Collapse
Published reports indicate that a man who was riding in a vehicle which was crushed by the bridge collapse at Florida International University has filed a lawsuit.
Local10.com reports that Richard Humble, a sophomore at FIU, was riding back from a doctor’s appointment with fellow student Alexa Duran when the bridge collapsed on top of the SUV in which they were riding. Duran was killed in the incident, and Humble was injured.
Humble has now filed a lawsuit claiming negligence against the companies which were responsible for the construction and engineering of the bridge. The report says that Humble is seeking compensation for
“past and future pain and suffering, loss of the capacity for the enjoyment of life, aggravation of pre-existing conditions, rehabilitation expenses and past and future mental distress, which has manifested itself in physical injuries, including headaches, nausea, sleeplessness, debilitating phobias and ongoing nightmares…”
