Kumho Tire Company has issued a recall of nearly 2,000 tires due to a dangerous defect that could increase the risk of crash.

According to ConsumerAffairs.com the recall affects the company’s Solus KH16 tires (size P225/65R17). The reason for the recall is that under extreme weather conditions the tire belts may separate from the tires, possibly resulting in the tires’ failure.

The article says that consumer can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on its website or by calling 1-888-327-4236.
