Driver Strikes 6 Children in Broward County – Killing Two
A driver struck multiple children in Wilton Manors Florida on Monday, setting off a massive manhunt.
Local10.com reports that 5-year-old Kylie Jones and 6-year-old Andrea Fleming were killed when a man driving a Honda first cut off a transit bus, then swerved onto a sidewalk striking multiple children.
In all, there were six victims, with the four of the surviving victims being transported to Broward Health Medical Center
“The driver of the Honda failed to allow the bus to merge and passed it, almost striking the front driver’s side as it cut in front of the bus. The Honda then veered right (west) and drove off the roadway and onto the sidewalk and driveway at 2417 N.W. Ninth Ave., striking multiple children,” said a Broward Sheriff’s office bulletin.
Following the crash, the driver fled the scene, in violation of Florida law.
Authorities continue to search for him.
