Authorities Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Dania Beach Crash

Authorities have now identified a motorcyclist who died in a two-vehicle crash in Dania Beach on Thursday.

Police say that the victim was 41-year-old Dante Brovillette of Pompano Beach.

Brovillette was killed as he rode his Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Griffin Road at about 1:00 p.m. Local10.com reports that 38-year-old Homestead resident Jonathan Ross Lubert was driving a 2020 Kia Sorrento eastbound on Griffin Road as Brovillette approached. Lubert merged into the left turn lane in order to turn on SW. 33rd Ave. When he turned he crossed in front of Brovillette.

Brovillette, who was not wearing a helmet, collided with the passenger side of the Kia, ejecting him from his bike. Brovillette suffered severe injuries in the collision.

Rescue workers responded to the scene and transported Brovillette to Memorial Regional Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
