Student Killed and Three Others Injured In Traffic Collision at Bus Stop

A student was killed by a vehicle while she was awaiting her bus in Royal Palm Beach on Tuesday.

WPBF.com reports that 15-year-old Tiana Johnson was waiting at the bus stop when a passing vehicle lost control and struck her and three other students. The collision left another 15-year-old in critical condition and seriously injured 16-year-old and 17-year-old students.

“It has been one of the busiest unsafe intersections in this area. And nothing got done about it. We have students going to school, we have buses coming in. It’s unacceptable that this happened,” complained a parent.

In a statement to parents and staff the school said, in part:

“This morning, 4 of our students, awaiting the arrival of their school bus, were struck by the driver of a passing car. All four students are hospitalized. Out of respect for, and in the interest of the privacy of the families involved, I am unable to share any further information about this accident.”

As of the time of the report, police had not charged the driver with a crime.
