A serious chain reaction vehicle crash on I-275 in St. Petersburg left one person dead and two people injured this week. Now, the driver of the vehicle that began the series of crashes has been arrested and is facing felony charges.
WTSP.com reports that the crash occurred at about 6:00 p.m. when four cars were stopped in traffic, two in the center lane and two in the outside lane. Another driver, Bryant Haney, apparently crashed into one of the vehicles in the center lane, causing a chain of crashes.
Update: FHP Troopers continue to investigate a now fatal crash involving multiple vehicles. Southbound I-275 remains closed with traffic diverted onto Gandy Blvd. Motorists should continue to expect delays and seek other routes. https://t.co/vA6ixXBPVS pic.twitter.com/RdQzvZqEPA
