Second Two-Boat Collision in Two Days Leaves One Seriously Injured

Yesterday we blogged about a collision between two personal watercraft in the Tampa area, a crash that left seven people injured, one seriously. Now, another two-boat collision has left another person seriously injured.

The second collision occurred at about 3 p.m. Sunday on the St. Johns River when two airboats collided, causing one of them to flip over. Like the crash a day earlier, seven people were on the boats when they collided, but this time only one person was injured severely enough to be transported to the hospital. FloridaToday.com reports that rescue workers airlifted a juvenile to an Orlando-area hospital while the other six people refused treatment.

Authorities with Florida Fish and Wildlife are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
