Report: Victim In Tuesday’s Brightline Train Collision Stayed On Tracks As Train Approached

Authorities are shedding additional light on the fatal collision involving a Brightline train Tuesday.

Local10.com reports that in a statement, Broward Sheriff’s Office said that the pedestrian was standing on the tracks as the train approached. The train operator reportedly told investigators that when he noticed the pedestrian on the tracks he began to flash warning lights and blow the train’s horn but the pedestrian did not move.

The collision occurred at about 4:20 p.m. in the area of Copans Road and Dixie Highway and left the victim dead.

Authorities have yet to identify the victim.
