Police identify pedestrian fatally struck by vehicles in Hialeah Gardens

HIALEAH GARDENS, FL – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by two vehicles in Hialeah Gardens Tuesday morning.

This is an update to a previous story.

According to WPLG, the victim was 67-year-old Julio Leon Perez.  Miami-Dade Police say he was waiting to be picked up by relatives near a nursing home on Frontage Road when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla at about 6 a.m.

Perez was then struck a second time by a dark-colored vehicle which left the scene, and was pronounced dead. The Toyota driver stayed at the scene.

Police are now searching for the driver of the second vehicle.
