Pedestrian hit by 2 vehicles near Hialeah Gardens nursing home

HIALEAH GARDENS, FL – Police say a pedestrian was hit by two vehicles near a nursing home in Miami-Dade County, and a search is now underway for one of the drivers.

WPLG reports the incident happened Tuesday morning in the area of West Okeechobee Road and the parallel Frontage Road in Hialeah Gardens at about 6 a.m.

The 67-year-old victim was hit by a Toyota sedan while waiting for relatives to pick him up on Frontage Road.  He was then struck and dragged by a second vehicle.

Miami-Dade police said the Toyota’s driver stayed at the scene, but the driver of the second vehicle—believed to have been a pickup truck or an SUV—fled the area.

The condition of the victim, whose name has not yet been released, is unknown.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers.
