Parents Search for Answers After Infant Found Dead in Homestead Daycare

A South Florida family is grieving after their infant son was found dead in a local daycare.

Local10.com reports that 9-month-old Tayvon Tomlin was under the care of the Lincoln Marti Child Care School in Homestead on Monday when he was found unresponsive.

“I was told that my son was found unresponsive on his back, a position that he is not even comfortable in, with his eyes open,” said the infant’s mother Keiara Whorley.

Apparently, Whorley’s 4-year-old son was the person who informed her of his brother’s death.

Three days after Tayvon’s death, Whorley still does not have answers as to what caused his death.

Despite there being a surveillance camera on site, detectives investigating the death were told that the camera was not operational at the time of Tayvon’s death.
