News: Wrong-way driver involved in multi-vehicle crash on Florida Turnpike
DORAL, FL – Police say a wrong-way driver was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on the Florida Turnpike Sunday morning.
According to WSVN, the accident occurred near Northwest 41st Street in Doral at about 6:30 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a Dodge pickup truck was going south in the Turnpike’s northbound lanes and slammed into a Volkswagen SUV. That SUV then collided with a Cadillac SUV.
The driver of the pickup and the driver of the Volkswagen were both transported to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition.
The FHP is continuing its investigation into the crash, while trying to determine whether the pickup driver was impaired at the time.
