POMPANO BEACH, FL - Authorities said a driver going the wrong way was involved in a fatal collision on Interstate 95 early Saturday morning, according to Boca News Now.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 23-year-old man was driving a sedan south in the northbound center lane of I-95 near Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach.  The sedan crashed into the side of a northbound vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Greenacres man.

One vehicle ended up in the center lane of the interstate and the other was sent onto the right shoulder.

The Greenacres man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver was seriously injured and transported to Delray Medical Center.
