News: Woman critically injured in Miami hit-and-run crash
MIAMI, FL – A woman was critically injured when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a street in Miami, reports NBC Miami.
The incident happened early Monday morning in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 3rd Street. Police officers responding to the scene at about 3 a.m. discovered the woman on the ground. She was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The victim, whose name has not been released, was listed in critical condition.
The driver involved in the crash left the scene, and is now being sought by Miami police.
The area was shut down for about three hours for the police investigation. Anyone with information about what happened was asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers.
