LAKE WORTH, FL - Authorities said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a distracted driver in Palm Beach County on Sunday, according to WPEC.

The accident, which involved a 15-year-old driver, took place near a Burger King restaurant on North Dixie Highway in Lake Worth. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the teenager was leaving the restaurant's drive-thru when he became distracted after spilling his drink.

The teen then drove off the roadway and crashed into a building next door, hitting a pedestrian who was sitting on the stoop of the building.

The 46-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead after being taken to St. Mary's Medical Center.  His identity was not released. The driver was not injured.
