News: Miami police officer injured after cruiser struck by hit-and-run driver
MIAMI, FL – A Miami police officer was hospitalized after a police car was struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday night, reports WSVN.
Authorities said the driver left the scene after hitting the officer’s cruiser at about 8 p.m. The officer sustained a minor leg injury and was being treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Following the initial crash another police officer was able to ram the suspect’s car at Northwest 65th Street and 29th Avenue, where one person was taken into custody.
Two other people are still being sought in connection with the incident.
