LAKE WORTH, FL - A driver died after his vehicle was struck by a train in Palm Beach County Friday afternoon, reports the Palm Beach Post.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Danilo Vargas of Greenacres.  Investigators with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Vargas was driving a dump truck north on U.S. 441.  He made a left turn onto Morning Star Drive to go over a railroad crossing at about 2:16 p.m.

The dump truck entered the path of a southbound Georgia Pacific train and was struck.  Vargas was thrown from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The train's conductor was not injured.
