News: Man charged with vehicular homicide for fatal crash in Dania Beach

DANIA BEACH, FL – A man is under arrest in connection with a fatal crash earlier this year in Dania Beach, the Broward Sheriff’s Office announced.

The accident occurred March 1 at the intersection of Dixie Highway and Sheridan Street at about 1:17 a.m.  Investigators said 21-year-old Anderson Christopher Delinois of Miami was driving a Toyota RAV4 westbound on Sheridan Street while a BMW 328i was stopped at the intersection, waiting to turn left.

When the left turn arrow turned green and the BMW proceeded, it was struck on the front passenger side by the RAV4 in a T-bone style collision.  Sheriff’s office detectives said the RAV4 was seen traveling west from AIA at a high rate of speed without lights prior to the crash.

The driver of the BMW was killed in the collision, while Delinois and his passenger were hospitalized.  Delinois suffered critical injuries.  Investigators said excessive speed and impairment were contributing factors in the crash.

Delinois was arrested July 10 and faces a number of charges, including vehicular homicide, aggravated fleeing and eluding causing death, and reckless driving causing injury.
