News: Driver sought after Boca mother and son killed in hit-and-run crash

BOCA RATON, FL – Authorities are trying to locate the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed a mother and son in West Boca on Saturday morning, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The incident occurred in the area of State Road 7 and N. Central Park Boulevard at about 7:30 a.m. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said 44-year-old Andres Napoleon Llovera Morales was driving a Toyota when it was rear-ended by a Ford Fusion, causing the Toyota to spin out and hit a tree.  Morales’s mother, 66-year-old Dinorah Coromoto Morales de Llovera, was a passenger in the car and died at the scene.  Andres Napoleon Llovera Morales was pronounced dead at a hospital four days later. Both were Boca Raton residents.

The driver of the Ford Fusion fled the scene after the crash, the sheriff’s office said. The vehicle, which sustained heavy front-end damage, was found later at a car rental lot in Fort Lauderdale.  The driver remains at large.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
