News: Driver dies after car slams into construction truck on I-595 in Davie
DAVIE, FL – A collision on Interstate 595 in Davie Tuesday night left a driver dead and caused extensive traffic delays, according to WSVN.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a vehicle slammed into a construction truck on I-595 west near State Road 7 sometime before 10 p.m. The driver of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene.
A construction worker sustained injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening.
State troopers and local rescue squads responded to the crash, and the westbound lanes of I-595 were blocked. Traffic was backed up through the area as the scene was being cleared.
No details were released on what may have led to the accident.
