FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Authorities are continuing their search for the driver who left the scene after hitting a pedestrian in Fort Lauderdale on Sept. 15, NBC Miami reports.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was trying to cross the southbound lanes of State Road 7 at about 7:30 p.m. when he was struck by a Range Rover. The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries.
Investigators said the driver of the vehicle involved turned east on Southwest 19th Street and drove away. The vehicle being sought is a white or silver Range Rover made between 2014 and 2017 that most likely has front end damage.
The victim’s family members and the BSO are seeking help from the public in tracking down the driver. Anyone with information was asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers, which will pay a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
