News: Bicyclist struck by car near airport in Fort Lauderdale
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Authorities said a bicyclist was hit by a car early Wednesday morning near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
NBC Miami reports the adult cyclist was riding near the 3800 block of West Perimeter Road when the accident occurred at about 4 a.m.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, but the extent of their injuries was not disclosed. The driver involved stayed at the scene, and no charges were immediately filed.
The crash shut down a stretch of West Perimeter Road for over four hours, with drivers advised to seek alternate routes.
