News: 2 crashes in 2 days at I-95 entrance ramp in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Authorities responded to two crashes in two days at the same Interstate 95 entrance ramp in Fort Lauderdale, according to WSVN.

The first incident occurred Saturday afternoon at about 3:30 p.m., when the driver of a Cadillac SUV struck a wall on the ramp from State Road 84 and landed on the right shoulder of I-95. Two men in the vehicle were seriously injured and taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

The following day, the Florida Highway Patrol said a woman lost control of her vehicle near State Road 84 at about 3:45 p.m., went through the wall that had been fixed after Saturday’s crash, and drove off the I-95 entrance ramp.

She sustained injuries that were serious but not life-threatening, and was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

The ramp has been shut down for repairs, and the Florida Department of Transportation said it is conducting a review to determine if any further safety measures are needed.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of both accidents.
