News: 1 dead, 1 injured after SUV collides with golf cart in SW Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – A car and a golf cart were involved in a deadly collision in Southwest Miami-Dade County early Thursday morning, according to WSVN.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the golf cart was trying to cross the southbound lanes of Krome Avenue from Southwest 158th Street at about 3 a.m., and entered the path of a Mercedes. The two vehicles collided as a result and the Mercedes overturned.
The driver of the golf cart, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the Mercedes was ejected from the SUV and was transported to Jackson South Medical Center. She suffered serious injuries but was expected to survive.
The FHP responded to the scene along with Miami police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews.
Krome Avenue was shut down for about five hours while authorities cleared and investigated the scene.
