More Information on Dania Beach Boat Explosion

Yesterday we blogged that six women were injured in a boat explosion in Dania Beach Saturday morning. Now more information about the incident is becoming available.

Local10.com reports that the incident occurred at about 11:45 a.m. when six women boarded a vessel that was docked and fueled. When they turned the boat on apparently the ignition trigger a vapor explosion. Contrary to other published reports, Local 10 reports that the vapor explosion extinguished itself and the boat did not catch fire.

First responders transported the victims to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment of second-degree burns.

There has been no update as to the victims’ medical condition.
